KJC is a Central Coast–based jewelry and apparel brand designed to bring casual California luxury to women. Founded by Kannyn January, KJC offers pieces that are thoughtfully curated for timeless wear as they made to endure everyday life and be passed down from generations. 

For Kannyn, jewelry carries value both intrinsically through resell value and more importantly, through intention from when the initial conception of the design to the value it takes on throughout its life. KJC pieces are designed with the intention to feel personal and become part of someone’s story, staying with them throughout the years.

Where It All Began: One Charm, One Idea

KJC started with a single piece designed for a friend who was searching for a small gold Miraculous Mary charm. While bringing that idea to life, Kannyn connected with manufacturers and designers who could help develop and craft the charm to her standards. Researching and speaking with various individuals within the industry sparked a bigger project. Once the charm was created, Kannyn realized she could continue working directly with manufacturers to offer women luxury-quality gold and make fine jewelry more accessible to all women. 

“After working with manufacturers directly, I realized I wanted to offer more of that to our clients so that they could invest in real jewelry that they could hopefully pass down to their children, and grandchildren.”

Intention and Quality

Working with manufactures across the world and within different fields has allowed Kannyn to advocate for the quality in design and product that she wants her clients to have access to. Ranging from fine jewelry to daily accessories, like hairclips. If she sees an area that can be improved, she sees it as an opportunity to make that direct impact.

“I believe in investing in good product, product that will last with you, and grow with you.” 

The Goal: Creating a Lifelong Experience 

Building a brand with this level of intention takes a tremendous amount of investment, time, and care. But during an interview, Kannyn explained that at the end of the day, she wishes to provide an experience that can grow over a lifetime.  KJC is about thoughtfully curated, selected, and shared pieces that bring happiness to people today, and for years to come.
